The non-profit association Ahoj Nachbarn was founded 2005 in Nuremberg. Its founder comes from the Czech Republic, from where the word "Ahoj" (English: "Hello") comes into the club name. Ahoj Nachbarn is primarily active in Munich, and is supported by volunteers. The main objective of the activities of Ahoj Nachbarn is promoting cultural cooperation between countries in Central and Eastern Europe. Through a variety of artistic projects and events the engagement should be made possible with eastern neighbours to stimulate mutual interest and understanding.
