Iwan Wasow e.V. German-Bulgarian Cultural Association

The "Iwan Wasow" German-Bulgarian Cultural Society e.V. located in Essen was founded on 8 March 1975. Only 5 years later it was recognised as a city cultural body and as a non-profit organisation since 1983. The members of the association are Bulgarians living in the Ruhr area, Germans and persons from other nationalities. In past years regular concerts, literature readings in Bulgarian and German, a series of Bulgarian films and exhibitions by a range of artists have been organised.
