The Russian-language association ASBUKA e.V. has existed in Hamburg for 16 years. ASBUKA is a primer, the first textbook, in which the entire ABC - letter by letter - is explained in a child-friendly manner. The members include, amongst others, ethnic Germans from the former Soviet Union and Jewish migrants. The association focusses on supporting the Russian language in bilingual and bi-cultural life situations and in the Russian hours the children, often in a playful way, in addition to the deliberate extension of vocabulary, are taught the spelling and grammar of their native language.
