The Istituto Italiano di Cultura Colonia is an initiative set up by the Italian government to promote Italian language and culture abroad. It provides Italian language courses for beginners and advanced learners and organises events such as film series, plays, art exhibitions, concerts, literary readings, talks, conferences and discussions on a variety of topics. The Istituto Italiano di Cultura Colonia loans its library of around 19,000 books, videos and DVDs to anyone with an interest in Italian language and culture.
