The German-Chinese Society e. V. - Friends of Taiwan was founded in Berlin in 1957 and is for that reason the oldest club to promote relations between Taiwan and Germany, which includes German and Taiwanese members. The society consisted at first above all of representative of the German parliament, for whom a long-term development of German-Taiwanese relations was a concern. It brings together citizens on the basis of culture and business, science and politics, who come from Germany or Taiwan.
