International youth association Europa-Lateinamerika

The association was founded in 1990 as a self-organisation of Chileans under the name “Chilenische Jugend- und Kulturinitiative e.V.”. The idea was to set up a point of contact for Latin American teenagers living in Hamburg so that they could meet up and work through their experiences and life’s challenges together. From the get-go, the association was open to German young people who were interested in the work the “Chilenischen Jugend” was doing. Today, many teenagers and young adults with various backgrounds/from the first and second generation of migrants who are living in Hamburg meet at the association’s premises.
