Lyra e.V. in Berlin has been actively involved in integration in Lichtenberg for around 20 years. With its origins as an artists’ initiative, it has made a significant contribution to the social integration of ethnic German immigrants who moved to Germany both before and after 31 December 1992 (known in Germany as “Aussiedler” and “Spätaussiedler” respectively). In the years it has been active, its work has expanded into many different areas beyond the cultural sector.
