Russian orthodox community in Stuttgart

The history of the Russian orthodox community in Stuttgart began on 13 April 1816, the date on which Grand Duchess Catherine Pavlovna of Russia, future Queen of Württemberg, made the area her home. From the early 90s onwards, the community has grown as a result of the changing political situation in Russia. With between 500 and 700 members in Stuttgart and across Württemberg, the community now has members of Russian, German, Greek, Serbian, Bulgarian and other nationalities.
