As a stand-up comedian he has been travelling all over Germany. Standing on the stage, writing lyrics, making people laugh - that's his everyday life. In 2007, together with Babak Ghassim, Ususmango founded the stand-up comedy ensemble RebellComedy in Aachen. Early on, Ususmango supported comedy greats like Helge Schneider and was an avid fan of American stand-up comedy. He and Babak Ghassim quickly realised that they also wanted to try their hand at it: "Let's do it ourselves" they said to each other and started.
"My favourite school subjects were sports and maths", says Ususmango. Not that he was particularly good at maths, he adds laughing. But he liked the clear answer to every question. „1+1 is two“. Always. On the other hand, German lessons frustrated him because his teacher always wanted to hear a different interpretation from him.
German and Arabic cultures meet in his everyday life: There are Arabic foreign words that have also made their way to Germany, says the comedian. "The audience understand exactly where you come from and also use these words," says Ususmango. His favourite German word is "Elfenbein” [ivory], he reveals.
