MIR e.V. is a club in Munich for cultural relations between the Federal Republic of Germany and the successor states of the former Soviet Union. The Centre of Russian Culture in Munich was founded in Munich-Schwabing in September 1991. The seven founding members have set the goal of establishing a bridge between Russian and Western or German culture, which passes from person to person, from artist to artist. And not just because in those years all over Germany there was a Russia and Gorbachev fever, but because the time had come to bring the traditional, centuries-long German-Russian cultural relations to life.
