The Palestinian Friendship Association Wuppertal celebrates its 13th anniversary this year. The focus and activities are to strengthen dialogue in three directions: The Palestinian-German dialogue, the Palestinian-Palestinian dialogue and the Palestinian-Arab dialogue. Thus, the association serves the selfless promotion of understanding between Palestinian and German citizens, as well as between Palestinians and all other ethnic groups in Wuppertal and Germany.
The association is primarily committed to building community relations both among Palestinians abroad and at home and international understanding in the Middle East. The association strives for a twinning partnership between Wuppertal and a city in the Palestinian territories and works towards this with its members. Alliances were agreed and formed, and joint cultural events held, in addition to medical education events in cooperation with the Palestinian Physicians and Pharmacists Association and the Health Authority of the city of Wuppertal. Most of the events aim to preserve and present the tradition and culture of the Palestinian people, taking into account their history, and to improve the quality of life of the members through education.
